O'HARA, JOHN P. "Tis Himself" August 8, 1942- August 17, 2014 John P. O'Hara passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the age of 72. John was born and raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland, attended private Hawthorne School and graduated from the University of Miami. John was a veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War, worked for Allstate Insurance Company, and volunteered as his sons' baseball coach for many years at Perrine Khoury League. John was also a proud alumnus of the University of Miami; he enjoyed college baseball and football! John loved to travel cross country in his van and on trains, write books, and tell stories as only an Irishman could. He leaves behind former wife, Duane D. O'Hara, sons Mark and Michael O'Hara, daughter-in-law Cristine O'Hara, granddaughter Katie Elizabeth and grandson John Michael "Jack," brothers Pete and Mark, and sister Bridgetnot to mention a large Irish clan full of love and laughter. A memorial service is planned for Thursday, August 21 from 6-8 pm at The Stanfill Funeral Home located at 10545 S. Dixie Highway, Pinecrest, Fl. 33156. The burial will follow Friday, August 22 at The South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Rd. 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449 at 2:15 pm. A celebration will follow Friday night at Rodbenders Rawbar located at 20400 Old Cutler Road, Cutler Bay, Fl. 33189 at 6:30 pm.
