MORTON Gene Ira Morton, 73, of Long Key, FL passed away on Monday November 26, 2012 at Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, FL. He was born on May 14, 1939 at Bismark, North Dakota to the late James and Faye (Polleck) Morton. Gene served in the United States Navy prior to working as an Aircraft Electrical Engineer in Jacksonville, FL. He retired in 1995 moving to Fort McCoy, FL. For the past 15 years Gene has volunteered and worked as O.P.S. Maintenance at Long Key State Park, Long Key, FL. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly J. Morton; sons Robert Morton and Gene Morton, Jr.; granddaughters Robyn Jean Morton and Sara Michele Morton. Memorial services will be held on Sunday December 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Layton Baptist Church, Layton, FL. In lieu of flowers donations maybe directed to the
