Daniel Francis Kelley, Jr., a native of San Juan, PR, died in his home in Miami, Florida on November 10, 2012 after 93 years of a life well-lived. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Katherine Joan MacKenzie Kelley, his daughters Consuelo Doria (Brenda Hale), Jean Consuelo, and Robin Doria, and his grandsons Sam, Max, Tom, Ethan and Corey. U. S. Army captain 1943-46. An alumnus of Cornell University (1941), Harvard Business School (1943) and Yale Law School (1947), he was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell (1947-49) in New York before returning to Puerto Rico. As founding partner of McConnell, Valdes, Kelley, Sifre, Griggs & Ruiz-Suria, now McConnell Valdes, in Hato Rey, P.R., Daniel was instrumental in supporting the expansion of the island's economy following Operation Bootstrap. Don Dan celebrated life, and his many friends and family were blessed with the gifts of his humor and generous spirit throughout.
