POWELL, JACKSON WAYNE, 20, of Miami, beloved son, brother, grandson and friend left us on June 9th 2013 to be with his deeply-missed stepbrother, Andrew Parker. He is survived by his loving mother and father, Patricia "Patty" Powell and Wayne Powell; stepmother Colette Powell; constant companions and best friends, sister Courtney Powell and stepbrother Jonathan Parker; grandparents Janet Powell and Earl and Christy Powell. Jackson is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Brett and Linda Powell, Mike and Chris Brookins, Rick and Kathryn Gladwell, Frank and Stephanie Gladwell, Judy Howard, Janet Gladwell, Sherrie Gladwell, Robbie Gladwell, Jeffrey Gladwell, Joey Gladwell, Dan and Ginger Monteleone, and Casey Forney; and cousins, Noel, Nick, Nicole, Corey, Ryan, Jamie, Nicole, Rachel, Jason, Clay, Robbie, Corby, Walker, Addie, Travis, Clinton, Jacob, Brittany, Lindsay, Jonnie Lee, Jessica, Matthew, Tony, Kaylee, Amanda and Sebastian; and the wonderful gift he has blessed our family with, his beautiful son, Owen. A freewheeling, fun-loving, and popular young man with striking good looks and a million-dollar smile, Jackson was a talented athlete who naturally excelled in any athletic endeavor. A native son who developed a love for the water at a young age while vacationing on the beach with his Mom and sister, Jackson loved the outdoors and was most in his element while wakeboarding, fishing and spearfishing with his Dad, family and friends in Miami, the Keys and the Bahamas. Jackson was a friend to many. He attended both Gulliver and Miami Palmetto High Schools. He was endearing with his quick wit, playful attitude, infectious sense of humor and unbridled love of adventure. An affectionate son and loving brother, he had a vibrant spirit, an oversized heart and an enduring zest for life. Our loss for him is beyond measure. We will miss him every day and will spread his ashes in the waters off the Florida Keys where he made so many joyful memories over his much too short 20 years. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 6 - 9 pm at Stanfill Funeral Home located at 10545 South Dixie Highway, Miami, FL 33156. A celebration of life will be held Monday, June 17, at 4 p.m. at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church located at 14401 Old Cutler Rd, Palmetto Bay, FL 33158. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jackson's name to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation; 10408 West State Road 84, Suite 104, Davie, FL 33324.
