Noe, Sam, was a good and generous man who loved and was loved in return by his wife, Susan, his family, his friends, and his greyhound, Misty. Mr. Noe, 65, died suddenly on July 26at his home in Indian Harbour Beach, FL where he and his wife recently moved after living 25 years in Miami. He will be remembered as a gifted storyteller who provided his countless friends with evenings filled with laughter as he recounted seemingly unbelievable experiences of his life. He was truly a Renaissance Man: a collector of antiques, a world traveler, an avid sports fisherman and certified boat captain who traveled the world with Susan. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was appointed a Kentucky Colonel by the Gov. of KY for service to the state. Through the years Sam worked for several employers including the Dept. of Defense in Norfolk and Jacksonville, Reynolds Aluminum in Richmond and the U.S. Coast Guard in Miami Beach. Sam was born on Jan. 8, 1948 to Margaret Willis Tapp Noe and Hugh Davis Noe in Somerset, KY. In addition to Susan, his wife of 44 yrs., he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Greg Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Merritt Island Crematorium. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 638 S. Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach, FL on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Adopt-A-Greyhound.
