ROMER, JOSEPH A., 100, of Miami, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on December 8, 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Adele; children: Margaret (John) Handley and Jeanne (Christ) Albert; grandchildren: Adele (Matthew) Seelke, Jennifer (Manuel) Rivera, Joshua Handley, Stephanie Albert, Nathan (Sara) Handley, and Christina Albert; three great-grandsons and three nieces. He was a graduate of Brooklyn College, a WWII Air Force veteran (France) and a human resource manager at Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY from its inception in 1942 until his retirement. He was a 4th Degree past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and active in Toastmasters. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 11, at 11AM at Holy Rosary - St. Richard Catholic Church, 7500 SW 152 St., Palmetto Bay, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to EWTN or Catholic Relief Services.
