ETHERIDGE, GEORGE WHITFIELD III, 84, of Miami, Florida, died peacefully on June 8th, with his family at his side. Born November 4, 1929, Norfolk, Virginia, He was preceded in death by his loving sister, Irene Corcoran, his devoted mother Mabel Blanks, and his father, George Whitfield Etheridge, II. After performing his duty in the United States Navy, he married his beloved bride, Rozanne Immele. They married in 1955 and settled in South Miami, where they raised a family of seven children. Last August, George and Rozanne celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. As a young man, George began working at Chase Federal Savings and Loan in 1955 as a Teller Trainee. He retired 32 years later as the Senior Vice President of Lending, and continued to serve on the Chase Board of Directors. He left behind a legacy of loyalty, business acumen and personal ethics. His passions in life were family, friends, and saltwater fishing. George is survived by his wife Rozanne and his seven children, George IV (Lisa), Lisa (Scott), Eileen (Roger) Corinne (Tom), Mary (Lou), Cathy (Glenn) and Patricia, and his fourteen grandchildren, Lauren, George, Amy, Jake, Carla, Meg, Austin, Ryan, Kate, Blake, Michael, Lindsay, Andrew and Jessica. As George departs upon his final voyage, we will miss his compassion, insight and strength. O Captain! My Captain! May you rest in eternal peace. Service will be held at 11am at Stanfill Funeral Home on Friday, June 13th.
