Orville William Griffith passed away on Nov. 12, 2012.
Bill was born on Sept. 1, 1914, in Bogue, Graham County, Kan., to Orville Whitney Griffith and Maude Ethel Lewis. He attended grade and high school in the area until he attended Kansas State College in Manhattan, Kan.
In 1939, he moved to Wichita, Kan., where he was employed by the Kansas Gas and Electric Company. He met and married Aurelia Sigg on Aug. 30, 1940.
In World War II, he served with the 17th Airborne Division, 513th Parachute Infantry Brigade.
After returning from the service, he with his wife and son Paul moved to Klamath Falls, Ore. He worked at various jobs in the area until assisting Leo Morstad in opening Leo's Camera Shop. He remained with Leo's until retirement in 1979.
Bill was an avid fly-rodder and photographer and a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Klamath Falls.
He was preceded in death by his wife Aurelia in 1998.
Survivors include his son Paul, daughter-in-law Madeleine Compton, granddaughter Kelsi and grandson Nicolas.
