James E. Pardon, a resident of Klamath Falls, died April 11, 2015, in his home at the age of 77. Interment will be at River View Cemetery in Portland on Wednesday, April 15, at 11 a.m. and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 20, in First Presbyterian Church, Klamath Falls. James was born in Ithaca, N.Y., on Dec. 23, 1937, to Harold and Mary Pardon. His family moved to Portland while he was a child, where he graduated high school. After his schooling, he joined the U.S. Army and served as a paratrooper. While serving, he was married to Nancy Blodgett of Portland in 1959. After the military, he worked for the Oregonian, and the couple started a family. The family moved to Klamath Falls in 1976 and James started a job at the Herald and News. He then made a career shift to lumber products and worked for Weyerhaeuser Co. and then Collins Products. James enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife Nancy of Klamath Falls; children and their spouses Elizabeth and Glynn Paulsen of Seattle, Patrick Pardon and Patricia Keith of Seattle, Timothy and Crystal Pardon of White City, Amy and Mark Baur of Lebanon, Ore.; 12 grandchildren, three of whom he raised as his children, Dezmond, Sarrah, and Emily Pardon; two great-grandchildren; sister Phyllis Garnier of Seattle; and brother John Pardon of Roseburg. Jim was a good man who will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
