Rajnus, Geraldine "Gerry"
Geraldine "Gerry" Jeanette Rajnus passed away on July 27, 2015. Gerry was born May 20,1940, in Tanyaville, Mo., one of four daughters born to Arnold and Marie Forrester. As a child, she moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., where she grew up and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1958. On Sept. 4,1959, she married her high school sweetheart, the boy across the street, Gene Cornett, and they had three daughters. While living in Bonanza, Ore., she worked at Bold's General Store and was a favorite of the school kids coming in at lunch. She later worked at the market in Merrill, Ore., and always had a smile for her customers. Gerry married Willie Rajnus on Jan. 21,1976, and gave him her love and devotion and three teenage daughters! She loved being a homemaker and helped with the bookkeeping for the farm. She always had a beautiful yard and loved gardening. She and Willie spent time on the coast, went to NASCAR races in Las Vegas, Nev., and went to Reno, Nev., every year for the Super Bowl. They had an RV parked in Redding, Calif., and enjoyed going there regularly, going to movies, out to dinner and always a stop at In-N-Out Burger! She was always there for her three daughters and made time every Wednesday afternoon for coffee. She also had a group of lady friends she had lunch with every month and looked forward to "catching up" with everyone. As the grandkids came along, she made each one feel as if they were her favorite, inviting them to lunch, buying them special gifts or encouraging them to stay in the RV in Redding to go fishing or to the water slides. Everyone looked forward to Christmas at grandma's house and she loved having everyone there! Gerry loved cats and always had at least one. She even thought the rock chucks invading the yard were cute and needed to be fed along with the birds and squirrels. She loved cookbooks and collected recipes all the time, planning to try this or that, and a whole bookshelf of her cookbooks had various colored tabs sticking out of each one. Gerry is survived by her husband, Willie; daughters and their husbands, Linda and Rick Bacchi, Lisa and Stan Chronister and Sherri and Steve Chronister; grandchildren, including Christina Schaaf, Tommy Bacchi, Marissa Sheldon, Travis Chronister, Jeremy Chronister, Kyla Chronister and Macey Blankenship; great-grandchildren, Blair Schaaf, Mason and Evie Sheldon and Brooklyn and Paisley Chronister; and sisters, Edna Wolfrum, Helen McCracken, and Shirley Charles. She was preceded in death by both parents and granddaughter, Amanda Chronister. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens. Contributions in Gerry's name can be made to any cancer research or cure organization of the donor's choice and flowers can be sent to Eternal Hills Funeral Home.
