Brian Lee Christman

Brian Lee Christman took his place in God's heavenly choir May 10, 2014. He died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, in O'Hair Funeral Chapel with a light lunch to follow. Brian was born at Langley Air Force Base, Va., to Roy and Sylvia (Maynard) Christman Jan. 27, 1961. As a "military brat," his growing-up years covered four states and England. In 1970, the family settled in Klamath Falls. Brian graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1978 and Harvey Mudd College in 1982. After graduation, he went into the U.S. Navy, training as a navigator. He married Elizabeth Parden the following year. They were blessed with a daughter, Jennifer in 1985. The marriage ended in divorce. Due to medical reasons, Brian was medically discharged in 1989. He was an active member and served as a deacon in the former First Baptist Church. He loved singing in the church choir. He continued serving the Lord until his death through Evergreen Baptist Fellowship. Survivors include his mother, Sylvia McCaslin and her husband, Rob Roy of Klamath Falls; daughter, Jennifer Martin (Robert) and grandson, Matthew of Redmond, Wash.; sisters, Marilyn Helton (Mick) of Eugene and Debbie Thoren (Ken) of Newberg; three nephews; one niece; and numerous special cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Roy Christman in 2003. His family thanks Oasis Care Home for over two years of care and love they shared with Brian. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Brian may be made to Klamath Falls Gospel Mission or Pregnancy Hope Center.
