Edward Rose Jr.

Edward Rose Jr.
Edward Alphonse Rose Jr. of Chiloquin passed away May 20, 2013, after a short illness.
Ed was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Alameda, Calif., to Edward Alphonse Rose Sr. and Edith Katherine Safford.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Sparks of Chiloquin; his sister Barbara Escobar of Castro Valley, Calif.; and his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Rae Rose of Tucson, Ariz.
Ed was in Yuma, Ariz., hoping to resume golfing and riding his Harley when he passed.
As a young man, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the USS St. Paul. After his retirement from General Motors in Fremont, Calif., and the University of California Santa Cruz, he took on other jobs, including driving a tour bus, a school bus, and transporting RVs for RV shows.
When not working, he enjoyed bowling and riding his motorcycle with friends. After his marriage in 2001, he moved from Santa Cruz to eventually settle in Chiloquin. He and Sandy began golfing in 2001 and it became one of his favorite past times along with RVing. Ed had a great interest in the science of the world and universe around him and loved debating it with a select few.
He will be remembered as a good and considerate friend and brother and a loving husband.
A celebration of his life will take place in Chiloquin in July.
