Evelyn Malone Newnham, loving mother and grandmother, 80, of Klamath Falls, Ore., passed away peacefully at her home Dec. 3, 2013.
Evelyn was born July 12, 1933, in Paris, Miss., to Charlie and Arie Arizona Malone.
At the age of 16, she married Arlie Coy Massey in Truman, Ark. They then lived in Lamont, Calif., until 1966 when they moved to Drain, Ore.
In 1977, she married James Henry Newnham in Macdoel, Calif., where they worked in trucking potatoes and hauling and selling Christmas trees in Bakersfield, Calif.
In 1990, they retired and moved to Klamath Falls, where she was preceded in death by James Henry Newnham in May 2010.
She is survived by two children, Arlie Ray Massey and Kerry Denise (Massey) Draeger; four sisters, Martha Ellen Smith, Ethelene Lamb, Shirley Anne Simmons and Patricia Arie Whittiker; three brothers, Charles Henry Malone, William Carl Malone and John Lowell Malone; two grandchildren, Joshua James Dear and Anthony Jared Draeger; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many friends and other family members.
A very loving, funny and caring mother, sister and friend, "Elbo" will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
