Freida Louise Hale passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Klamath Falls. Freida was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Delhart, Texas. As a young child, she and her mother moved to Colorado for a couple of years and then to Gilchrist, Ore., when she was 10 years old. There, she met the love of her life, Frank Hale, when she was only 15 and he was 13 years old. Freida and Frank were married March 5, 1945, in a small ceremony at Eagle Point, Ore. Freida spent most of her life in and around Klamath County. She attended and graduated from Gilchrist High School. She was employed at several places in Klamath Falls, but the two most recent were Columbia Plywood and the Klamath Falls City School District. She enjoyed working with numbers so consequently was payroll clerk at both places while she was there. After Freida retired, she and Frank spent many enjoyable winters together in Arizona, playing golf and dancing. Traveling and just enjoying each other's company and family became their favorite pastimes. Freida lived in the same house that she and Frank built for themselves for more than 45 years until last year, when her eyesight began failing and she needed to move to assisted living at Pelican Pointe. She was preceded in death by Frank, her husband of 60 years, and son, Kim Brent Hale, who passed away while serving in the Air Force in 1972. Survivors include her son, Daryl Hale and his wife, Linda of Clovis, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Lona Hale of Bend, Ore.; grandchildre,n Eric Hale of Bend, Quinn Hale and his wife, Jennifer of Dallas, Ore., Dustin Hale and his wife, Renee of Clovis, and Brandy Flores of Anaheim, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren.
