Helen Marie Bowden, 88, passed away in Klamath Falls, March 1 in the presence of her loved ones. Helen was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Riverside, Wash., to parents, George and Ruby Roseberry. As a child and into young adulthood, Helen worked in the apple orchards in Washington. She met the love of her life, Earl, in Spokane, Wash., while Earl was playing in a band. They married in Cathlamet, Wash., Nov. 3, 1951. They made their home in Kelso, Wash., before moving to Klamath Falls in 1958. Helen began waitressing at local restaurants such as the Blue Ox and the Hill Top Café. She also became a part of the Pelican Pipers in town and enjoyed spending her free time singing and dancing. Helen and Earl enjoyed the outdoors and spent many wonderful moments camping and hunting with their children and grandchildren. As Helen got older, she began spending time at our local senior citizens center, socializing with friends and taking advantage of her ultimate passion, dancing. Survivors include her sister, Georgia "Babe" Billings; brothers, Amsey Roseberry and Robert Roseberry; son, Clifford Bowden; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Diane Bowden of West Linn, Ore., and Glenn and Laura Bowden of Susanville, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Terrie and Albert Flath of Klamath Falls and Roberta and Gordon Gribling of Redmond, Ore.; daughter, Tammia Bowden and her partner, John Herman of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada; grandchildren, Naomi Arena and her husband, Joe, Caroline Montiel and her husband, Mario, Sylvia Nelsen and her husband, Paul, Mandalynn Marcus and her husband, Daniel, Gordon "Jake" Gribling and his wife, Tamara, Kristin Mauseth and her husband, Kenny, Kile Bousman, Jonah Madden, Courtney Gribling, Sarah Mitchell and her husband, J.R., Hanna Gribling, and Kara Madden; great-grandchildren, Mariah and Ronnie Nelsen, Catyana and Savannah Montiel, Leah and Lara Marcus, Lily Mauseth, Teddy Mitchell and Maybe Gribling; great-great-grandson, Joe Ballou; and step-grandchildren, Donald Montagner and his wife, Margo and their children Jedediah and Lydia, Jacob Reaves and his daughter, Kaylee, Jason Rhinevault, Melissa and Jordan Herman and Kali and Liam Lavediere. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; son, Michael Harrell, grandson Jason Bowden, brother Earl Roseberry; sisters, Grace Roseberry, Rula Mackey and Alda Bowden. Services will be at the Calvary Chapel at 11:30 a.m. March 8 with a reception to follow. Private graveside services will be for family only.
