Jack Harrison Brown, 88, died in Klamath Falls, Ore., on June 11, 2013.
A family cryptside service was at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens' Haven of Rest Mausoleum.
Jack was born in Bend, Ore., to Samuel and Irene Hutchins Brown April 17, 1925. When he was 9 years old, they moved to Klamath Falls and he later graduated from Klamath Union High School. He then entered the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served as a flight officer from 1943 to 1946 during World War II.
On Feb. 10, 1945, he married LaMae Vanderhoff in Big Springs, Texas. After a few years logging in Eureka, Calif., they returned to Klamath Falls, where he operated Jack Brown & Son.
LaMae preceded him in death in 2008.
Jack enjoyed playing pinochle, gardening, hunting and fishing. Most important to him was his ability to grow a business, his marriage, his children and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law John and Pat Brown of Klamath Falls; grandchildren Jenny and Bill Barnes of Redding, Calif., John and Katie Brown of Klamath Falls, and Marcy and Brian Biboux of Bend; five great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Wallace Budden of Ashland, Ore.; brother-in-law Roger and Katie Vanderhoff of Klamath Falls; sister-in-law Effie Vanderhoff and Gloria and Virgil Nelson of Ashland.
Jack was preceded in death, besides his wife, by a daughter Pamela Brown in 2007, a brother-in-law, and a sister.
