Mari Katherine (Kathy) Bensel-Watson was born Nov. 25, 1954 in Scotia, Calif. She was primarily raised in Humboldt County, Calif., and later moved to Oregon in 1995. She married Neal Thomas Bensel July 18, 1981, in Idaho. She earned her LPN license before moving to Oregon. After moving to Oregon, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Oregon Institute of Technology in 2006. She worked as a LPN, hospice nurse and mental health counselor and also was a full-time mom. She loved reading, watching movies and, most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Neal Bensel of Klamath Falls; sons, Chris Bensel, Jon Lunsford, Matt Bensel, all of Klamath Falls, and David Bensel of Portland; daughter, Kelly Rutter of Medford; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mom, Mary Sandall. Kathy had an enormous heart and loved helping people. She loved her job and the people she worked with, and enjoyed working with every family she helped. Private family memorial services have been held.
