Marion Rose Walker

Marion Rose Walker, 92, passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2012, in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Funeral services will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 12. Recitation of the holy rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Committal will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, from noon to 5 p.m. at O'Hair Funeral Chapel.
Marion was born on July 3, 1920, in Decorah, Iowa, the oldest daughter of James and Mary Woodhouse. After graduating from Decorah High School, she went to work at Western Union. While working there, she met and married Keefe Walker. They lived in Renton, Wash., for a few years before relocating to Klamath Falls.
Keefe worked at Weyerhaeuser Co. as an electrician and Marion was a homemaker, a nurse's aide at the medical center for a number of years, and retired from Klamath Falls City Schools, where she worked as a cook.
She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, where she held numerous offices, and Submarine Veterans Auxiliary. Marion loved traveling, gardening, sewing, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002, her parents, brother, and a sister.
Survivors include her children Tony Heinzman, Roger Walker, Theresa Weaver, Rita Fritz, Joan Haack, Sheila Peterson, Colleen Walker, Mark Walker and Rosemarie Walker; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Marge Bednarz and sisters-in-law Janice Woodhouse and Ruth Walker.
