Mary Barkhurst, 96, died in Klamath Falls, Ore., Sept. 28, 2013.
A service of tribute and love will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Eternal Hills Chapel with Rev. Russell Lambert officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mary was born Aug. 19, 1917, to William and Claire Ferris Duncan in Langell Valley, Ore.
She grew up in the Klamath Basin and married Roscoe Barkhurst in 1956. After owning a sandwich shop in Merrill and then working in the potato sheds, she retired in 1966. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe in 1998.
She was a member of the Merrill Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars
She enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping at Gerber, crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Shirley Turner of Gold Beach, Ore.; daughter, Mary Lou Wilson of Karlstad, Minn.; brother, Claire Duncan of Merrill; and niece and caretaker, Frances Berry of Merrill.
