Millie Howard, age 87, a former Klamath Falls resident, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, in Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters, and her husband Gene Howard.
She is survived by her son Thomas Howard (Mary), son William, daughter Mary Arlinghaus (Kenneth), seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Millie was born in India in 1925. She graduated from Woodstock High School in India in 1942 and attended Stanford University, where she graduated in 1946 with a degree in nursing. She married fellow Woodstock graduate Gene Howard in 1949.
They moved in 1956 to Klamath Falls, where they raised their family. She was active in many community activities and charities, including PEO, United Way, and the Community Concert.
In 1994, Millie moved to Southern California and then to Arizona, where she lived for the past 15 years in the Pebble Creek Community in Goodyear, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Pebble Creek Eagles Nest Ballroom in Goodyear with a reception to follow.
