Paul Eli Pursell, longtime resident of Chiloquin, Ore., peacefully passed away March 9, 2014. Born Feb. 10, 1922, in Pinckneyville, Ill., he enjoyed a long-term career in teaching and had a great love of art and music and a devotion to fly fishing, which included the actual pursuit of trout, collecting all things fishing and telling tales afterward. While living in Chiloquin, he was very involved with his church and community, giving back where he could and making lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen and son, Michael. He is survived by his daughters, Lee Ann Landenberger and son-in-law, Myron, Patricia Grennan and son-in-law, Dennis; and Melissa Morgan and son-in-law, Jay; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nephew, Roger Taylor (Pat Taylor) and his three sons and daughter and grandchildren. Services were Saturday, March 15, 2014, in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Chiloquin.
