Velma Ann (Borough) Klem, 80, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at her Klamath Falls, Ore., residence with family at her side.
Velma was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Klamath Falls to Charles Borough and the former Velda M. Anderson. She grew up mostly in the Keno area, graduated from Klamath Union High School and later met the love of her life Donald I. Klem. They married June 4, 1949, in Klamath Falls. To that union, two children, Rusty and Dale were born.
Velma was a bookkeeper, but also found quality time for family and bringing the "kids" up in the way they should go. Plus there was time for motorcycle riding, reading, baking, candy making and camping.
She is survived by Donald, her husband of 63-plus years; son Rusty Klem and wife Blanche Sabo of Canby, Ore.; daughter Dale A. Losey and husband Larry of Redmond, Ore.; sister and husband Iris and Chuck Himelwright of Palos Verdes, Calif.; grandchildren Ty and Margaret Losey of Eloy, Ariz.; Curtis Losey of Portland, Ore., Levi Burns of Nampa, Idaho, and Arlie Arritola of Salem, Ore.; nieces and nephews Jan Daniels of Central Point, Ore., Kerry and Sherry Himelwright of Klamath Falls, Heather Himelwright and Marc Padilla and Brandon Himelwright, all of Palos Verdes, Joe Sloan of West Linn, Ore., and Pat Sloan of Springfield, Ore.; great-nephews Travis Daniels of Eagle Point, Ore., and Blake Daniels, Medford, Ore.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
