Katharine Marie Anderson, 66, went to be with her Lord Feb. 14, 2013 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Kathy was born to Fred and Jean Zeiler in Spokane, Wash., July 16, 1946. They made their home in Odessa, Wash. The Zeiler family later moved to the Vancouver area, where she graduated from Battleground High School and attended business school in Vancouver.
She married William Anderson in June 1965 and moved to Klamath Falls. They had two children, Barb and Mike. The family moved to a small farm in the Henley area. They had many adventures raising cows, pigs, and sheep. Kathy enjoyed the farm life. She was an avid gardener and took pride in preserving and canning everything from jams to homemade mincemeat.
Kathy took up quilting and later started to quilt with a group of friends from Calvary Chapel. She enjoyed making quilts for family, friends and many needed groups in the Klamath Basin, as well as overseas.
Kathy and Bill loved their annual camping trips to the coast.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, step-mothers, Mildred and Ethel, mother-in-law Olive Anderson, and daughter-in-law, Debbi Anderson.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bill, daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Steve Helm, son and daughter-in-law Mike and Linda Anderson, cousins Kathleen and Dean Springer, Robin, Russell, and Chris, step-sister Sylvia and Dick Martin, brother Bill Zeiler, brother-in-law Bob and Doris Anderson, nephews Mike, Greg, Tony, Scott, BJ, and many, many special friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Klamath Hospice or Sky Lakes Cancer Center.
Kathy was laid to rest at Mt. Laki Cemetery during a small graveside service with family. A celebration of life service will be held 5 p.m. March 9 at Calvary Chapel, 1201 S Alameda. A reception will be held immediately following.
One of many lessons Kathy taught us was to trust in God. He will give you the strength you need to go through life. She went through life and her battle with cancer with laughter, joy, and many smiles. The heavens have gotten a little louder with her laughter.
