Leroy "Nunny" Iverson was born on Aug. 19, 1931, and he went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 17, 2012, in Klamath Falls.
Leroy was born in Madison, Wis., to Albert Leroy Iverson and Ruby Garnett Iverson, one of seven children.
He was raised primarily in Mt. Rainier, Wash., and he raised his family in Bridgeville, Calif. He moved to Oregon in 1990.
Leroy was a veteran of the Army and served during the Korean War. He married Roberta Iverson on April 2, 1954, at the Bridgeville Baptist Church in Bridgeville, Calif. He worked as a truck driver, timber feller, and retired from the state of California as a heavy equipment operator.
Leroy enjoyed camping at Port Orford with his family, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Baptist Church on Homedale Road.
Leroy's family sends a special thanks to Pastor Don White for his prayers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years; his children Rick Iverson and Sue Iverson, both Klamath Falls, and Ed Iverson of Eugene; brother Ed Iverson of Ashford, Wash.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Friends and family will remember Leroy on July 4 at the Moore Park Marina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to a local veterans organization.
