The Guest Book is expired.
Paul lived with his family in various locations, finally settling in Tulelake with siblings Don, Amy, and Jim, mother Mary, and step-father Howard King. During his childhood, he was fascinated by electronics and built a crystal radio set as a teen. He attended Tulelake High School after which he entered the Navy.
He spent six years in the Navy and ended with E5 rank. While training in Texas, he met and married his first wife with whom he had three children, Michelle, Crystal, and John Paul. His career began at Texas Instruments and culminated in establishing his own electronic engineering consulting firm.
During his 20th class reunion, he rekindled friendships with Anselmo Padilla and Jimmy Mauch. He also sparked a romance with Jerry Ann Welch. They married in 1985 and had a daughter, Jessica. In 1990, they returned to Tulelake to be closer to family.
Paul was a kind, gentle man who loved his wife, children, and step-children unconditionally. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled.
He is survived by wife Jerry Ann, sister Amy, brother Jim, children Michelle Keeley, Crystal Jaggers, John Paul King, and Jessica King, step-children Jana Gonzalez and Bryce Hawkins, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind close neighbors and friends sister-in-law Janice Welch-Matthews and husband Jim Matthews, who were especially helpful during Paul's last days.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Malin Community Hall in Malin, Ore. Light food and refreshments will be available.
