Aleta Corene Redner, 77, of Klamath Falls, Ore., passed away peacefully Jan. 21, 2013, in Aberdeen, Wash., with her loving husband and other family members by her side.
Known by all as Corene, she was born in Indyhoma, Okla., on Sept. 28, 1935. She was the youngest daughter of Jennie LaDene (Pitts) and Woodrow Wallis. She attended schools in Indyhoma and Gallop, N.M. She married Richard C. Redner in 1957 and they made their first home in Arcata, Calif. Over the next four decades, Richard's timber career provided for homes in several Pacific Northwest towns, including Selah, Wash., Pendleton, Ore., Klamath Falls as well as Redding, Calif.
Corene had several successful positions as a bookkeeper in Redding and Pendleton. She and Richard attended First Baptist Church in Klamath Falls.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, tatting, working in her yard, her cars, baseball and, of course, her "boys." She was an active officer and bowler in several bowling leagues over the years with the most recent bowling league at Hanscom Bowl in Klamath Falls. She was very loved and will be missed dearly by family and friends alike.
Corene is survived by her husband, Richard Redner, at the home; her sons, Woodrow W. (Donelle) Redner of Roseburg, Ore., and Richard W. (Elaine) Redner of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Woodrow D. (Sossity) Redner of Reno, Nev., Jenni L. (Jason) Lewis of Corvallis, Ore., Richard C "Scooter" Redner of Hoquiam, Wash.; and two great-grandsons, Kylan and Keever Lewis of Corvallis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara Hunt, her brother Bill Wallis and her son John Wade Redner.
A family service was conducted in Aberdeen on Jan. 23, 2013. She will be laid to rest in Redding near her son at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Team, Anytime Fitness/First Presbyterian Church of Hoquiam in her name at 210 K St., Hoquiam, WA 98550.
