Charles E. "Jack" Harris, 83, died of natural causes at his residence at Pelican Pointe in Klamath Falls on March 31, 2013, with his family at his side.
He was born in Buckeystown, Md., on Sept. 13, 1929, to Charles W. and Lillian Geneva (Stalling) Harris.
He moved to Klamath Falls from the East Coast in 1977. He was a professor at Oregon Institute of Technology, retiring in 1996.
Jack and Pat Spears were married in Klamath Falls and were together for the past 34 years.
He was a member of the Lake Ewauna Rowing Club, American Legion, Rails to Trails, and several exotic cat clubs and a board member of the Klamath Public Employees Federal Credit Union, the Equipment Maintenance Council, and Badger Run Wildlife Rehab.
Jack enjoyed teaching, rowing, reading, education, gardening, traveling and taking care of his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Pat of Klamath Falls, he is survived by his sister Connie Akers of Ft. Washington, Md.; his daughters Sandy Anthony and Lori Harris both of Centreville, Md., and Debbie Ell of Easton, Md.; his son Donald Harris of Rockville, Md.; and his step-son Mark Gilpatrick of Klamath Falls.
Disposition will be by Pyramid Cremations. There will be no formal services. Ward's Klamath Funeral Home, 541-882-4404, is in charge of the arrangements.
