Dorathie Jane Dingler (née Schlosser) passed away with her children by her side on July 26, 2012. She was 95.
Dorathie was born on August 10, 1916, in Sunnyside, Wash., to Henry and Dora Schlosser. She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1936 and married Jake Strieck in 1937. Together they raised their three children in Outlook and Sunnyside.
Following Jake's death in 1975, she spent time traveling in Europe and the Holy Lands. She often spoke fondly of her travels, especially of her opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland. Throughout her life she dabbled in the arts, becoming skilled at painting, sketching, and photography.
Dorathie spent the last 26 years of her life with her husband Martin on his farm in Tulelake, Calif. They enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and taking long drives through the nearby wildlife refuge. After his recent passing, she returned to Sunnyside to be near family.
Dorathie is survived by her daughter Lola (Gary) Riel; son Kim (Patrice) Strieck; grandsons Ryan Riel, Jacob (Sabrina) Strieck, and Dustin Strieck; great-granddaughters Jessi and Jami Riel; great-grandson Mason Strieck; and Martin Dingler's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husbands Jake Strieck, Aubrey Fleming, and Martin Dingler and her son Robert J. Strieck, one brother and four sisters.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, Wash. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Lower Valley Hospice or Klamath Hospice.
