Dorothy E. Stiles
The Guest Book is expired.
Dorothy Ellen Stiles, resident of Klamath Falls, died Jan. 10, 2014, at the age of 80.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Klamath Memorial Park. O'Hair Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Dorothy was born on Jan. 7, 1934, in Saratoga, Wyo., to Samuel and Delila Ramsey.
When she was 10 years old, her family moved to Klamath Falls so her father could work in the logging industry. Dorothy attended the Klamath Falls City schools. After her schooling, she started working in the local potato fields and waitressing at Valliers Cafe and then Casey's Restaurant. Not having a car of her own, she relied on the city bus to get around. She met and fell in love with William Stiles, her bus driver, and the two were married in Reno, Nev., in 1951.
Dorothy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making Christmas candies and baking, but the love of her life was her twin granddaughters and her great-grandchildren. She especially loved being able to babysit the great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was active in Bible Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. People who knew her would say she never had a bad word to say about anyone and that she was loved by all.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sandy Hargrove of Eagle Point, Ore.; granddaughters and their spouses, Susan and Cody Barney, and Amy and Ryon Freeman; great-grandchildren, Annie Quinn, Cade Barney, Tyler Freeman and Tate Freeman; special niece, Katherine Butler and her children, Teron and Tyler, all of Klamath Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Stiles in 2006 and her sister, Delila "Sis" Stills.
