Harold V. "Babe" Lipe, 57, died of natural causes on June 22, 2012, at his home in Keno.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd, 2680 Memorial Drive. A celebration of life will be held at a later date yet to be determined.
Babe was born Oct. 21, 1954, the youngest child of Harold C. and Euphemia A. (Bigby) Lipe in Klamath Falls, Ore., where he was raised and remained his entire life.
Babe graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1972. He later married Kitty Johnson and they were blessed with two beautiful children, Andrea and Josh Lipe. He worked for numerous businesses in Klamath Falls, mostly doing millwork. For the last part of his life, he worked at Production Metal, which he enjoyed very much. In 2003, he married his friend and soul mate Marion (Margie) Yockey. Together they made a home in Keno. Babe and Margie worked and lived side by side and were inseparable.
He was an avid pool player (he won numerous tournaments), hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing cribbage with his dad every Saturday and playing with his best friend Fred Carlile as well. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting and spending any free time he had with his children and his family. He will be missed greatly.
Survivors include his loving wife Margie Lipe; parents Harold and Euphemia Lipe; sons and daughters Josh Lipe, Rina LaJaye, Travis Yockey, and Tamara Stewart; brothers and sister-in-law Bill and Brenda Lipe and Jim Lipe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill and Michele Yockey, George and Charlene Manning and Dave and Carla Schmidt; grandchildren Aaliyah, Luke and Jordan Lipe, Eric, Nate, Jaqade, Damarcus, Alyceia, Shadea, Tiffany, Yolanda, and Shalonda; Babe's lifelong friend Fred Carlile and good friend Marcia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents David and Lettie Bigby, brother Bernie, and daughter Andrea Lipe.
