Juanita Marie Stoehsler (1923 – 2012)
Juanita Marie Stoehsler, 88, passed away in Klamath Falls, Wednesday, June 6, 2012, with her family at her side. Juanita was born Aug. 18, 1923, in Lakeview, Ore., to Joe and Fannie Horsley. The family moved to the Bonanza area in the early 1930s. Juanita attended grade school and graduated high school in Bonanza. In 1941, she married Buck Stoehsler and after the war they settled in the Klamath Basin to raise their two children Ben and Cheryl.
Juanita led an active and busy life with farming, logging, raising a family, supervising Buck, and volunteering for community services. She loved to play cards, go bowling, and read. Juanita loved her big family that included her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her Horsley family. She is survived by her brother Clyde Horsley and his wife Almeta of Midland, Ore.; sister-in-law Helen Horsley of Bonanza, Ore.; and sister-in-law Laura Horsley of Ortig, Wash. Juanita was preceded in death by her brothers Ben Horsley, Gene Horsley, and Don Horsley.
Juanita is survived by her son Ben and daughter-in-law Pam Stoehsler of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and daughter Cheryl Riggs and son-in-law John Riggs of Palmer, Ala. She especially loved her grandchildren Joe and Scott Stoehsler, Stephanie (Riggs) Smith, and Nicole (Riggs) Reed. She openly welcomed her grandchildren's spouses and loved their children, her 10 great grandchildren: Dan and Nicole Reed's children Lindsey, Lauren, and Gavin of Klamath Falls; Joe and Kelly Stoehsler's children Jake, Tiffany, and Grace of Tacoma, Wash.; Todd and Stephanie Smith's children Kaden and Sawyer of Boise, Idaho; and Scott Stoehsler's children Lily and Dillon of Klamath Falls.
A "Celebration of Life and Love" service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at noon at the Bonanza Community Church officiated by Pastor Russ Smith. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be hosted by the church for all of Juanita's friends to attend.
