Karl Duke Rezac passed away after a short illness Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was born Feb. 1, 1985, in Newhall, Calif., and named Duke after his grandfather, and not John Wayne as many had supposed. At the age of 5, the family moved to Klamath Falls, where he remained untill his death at age 29. Duke went to Klamath Union High School and later acquired skills in woodland firefighting, construction and specializing in roofing. He was a gifted artist as a hobby, but his proudest joy was his love for his daughter, Lily. Duke is survived by Tera Kinnan and daughter, Lily; his father, Karl Rezac; mother, Katherine Blanchard; and his sister, Kristina Rezac. A memorial service will be in Veterans Memorial Park Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for the benifit of Lily Rezac at the memorial or in care of Katherine Blanchard, 975 N. Alameda Ave., Klamath Falls, OR 97601.
