Paul R. Hug lost his battle with prostate cancer on Jan. 5, 2012, at home with family at his side. He was 73 years old.

Paul was born Oct. 13, 1938, in Grants Pass, Ore., to Ashley Leo and Shirley Mae (Jones) Hug. He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1956. He spent nine years in the Army National Guard and worked for Columbia Plywood and Weyerhaeuser Co. before going to work at Southern Pacific as a roadway electrician, where he worked for 30 years.
On May 19, 1973, he married Mary Ann Ellefson in Reno, Nev.
He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing of all kinds and took great pride in his many hunting dogs over the years. He was well known for his garden and loved passing out vegetables all over town.
Paul is survived by his wife Mary Ann; children Wendy R. Tanner (Curtis), Paula R. Duman, Brent R. Lewis (Priscilla), Casey R. Hug, and Heidi R. Meserve (Brandon); and grandchildren Connor Brennan, Dezzarrae, Dannyail, Christopher and Brandon.
Please join us for a party to celebrate Paul's life on Saturday, May 5, at the Ross Ragland Cultural Center at 3 p.m. We can all share our favorite memories and stories. Food and drink will be provided.
