Ralph R. Kelley
Ralph R. Kelley, 78, died at his residence in Dorris, Calif., surrounded by all his loved ones Oct. 31, 2013. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Nazarene Church in Dorris. O'Hair Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Ralph was born Apr. 8, 1935, in Manton, Calif., to William and Pearl (Ritchey) Kelley. His family moved to the Dorris area in 1947. He married Judy Holder in Reno, Nev. Oct. 13, 1960. Ralph truly loved the outdoors, and he chose to spend his working years outdoors as a logger, working in that field for 47 years. After retirement, he continued outdoor pursuits. He especially enjoyed yard work and gardening, and raising lilies was one of his great talents. Ralph also took great pride in his children and grandchildren and carved out a large part of his life to spend time with them.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Kelley of Dorris; children and their spouses, Debra and Gary McCreary of Wellfleet, Neb., Rhonda Kelley of Cottonwood, Calif., Dina & Pat Cochrane of Susanville, Calif., Brandy & Terry Chadwell of Dorris, Dewayne Kelley of Rawlins, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters. Contributions in memory of Ralph Kelley may be made to Klamath Hospice.
