Donna Lucille Murphy was born July 1, 1928 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Everett and Ethel (Oberg) Puckett. Her ancestors came to Klamath County in the mid 1850s and were involved in logging and farming. Donna dedicated her life to God in 1940 and was faithful to that for the rest of her life. She graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1946 where she was very involved with the Pep Pepper's Club.
Donna was united in marriage to Fred Leon Murphy on August 10, 1946, after he returned from the Pacific and WW II. They celebrated 65 wonderful years of life together. She lost her first and only love on Dec. 30, 2011.
She worked for the Klamath County School District for 32 years in many positions. Following her retirement from the district office she went to work in the school lunch program where she loved visiting with the children and cooking. You could find her attending all of the sports activities with her grandchildren over the years. She served as an officer of the Klamath County Retired Educators Association for four years.
Donna had recently moved to the Pelican Pointe Retirement Center where she enjoyed the many activities and made many new friends.
Survivors include her two sisters, Helen Richardson and Juanita Robnett; a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Maryn Murphy of Medford; daughter and son-in- law, Linda and Andy Jones of Klamath Falls. There are seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all who loved her and will miss her.
