Ernest William Snyder, 70, passed away peacefully on Jan. 1, 2013, in Medford, Ore., surrounded by his family.
Ernie was born on May 1, 1942, in Long Beach, Calif., to Ernest W. Pearson and Ruth Gorbett.
He was raised and educated in California, where he graduated from Porterville High School in 1960, and attended Chaffey Junior College as well as Santa Barbara Community College.
He married Patti Dulisse in 1962 and they lived in Santa Barbara, where they had three children. The family moved to Oregon, where Ernie worked for and retired from Pacific Power & Light.
Ernie was an avid outdoorsman and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, sporting clays, and spending time in the Steens Mountains.
Survivors include his wife Patti and their three sons, Timothy (Jessica), Todd (Sammi) and John (Trish) Snyder; and their seven grandchildren, including Brandon and Sarah Snyder, Mackenzie Garside and Mollie and Emily Snyder and Devon Weiser and Malyssa Snyder.
A Christian memorial service will be in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Friday In lieu of flowers, please consider sending donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
