Doris Jean McGaughey Bigby, 80, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at her Klamath Falls, Ore., residence with family at her side.

Doris was born Jan. 8, 1933, in Knobel, Ark., to John Andrew McGaughey and the former Robbie Elizabeth Quarles.
The family moved to Klamath Falls in 1935 when Doris was about 2 years old. She attended Klamath Union High School and later met the love of her life Taylor Bigby. They took the Scenic Drive and married on Oct. 17, 1953, in Sparks, Nev. To that union, two children Scott and Tracy were born.
Doris, with much delight and pride, chose the career of being a full-time homemaker. She truly loved caring for her family, card playing, reading, picnics and any kind of a family gathering. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include Taylor, her husband of 59 years; son Scott; daughter and husband Tracy and David Walker; sisters Maxine and her husband Frank Wysup and Georgia Brown; grandchildren Kelli Tompkins and Megan Collman; great-grandchildren Chris Tompkins, Hailey Collman and Madison Collman; special friend Donna Peterson; and special granddaughter Sam Phillips, all of Klamath Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Robbie; brothers W.T. and Earl McGaughey, sisters Elizabeth Dowdy and Helen Galloway and grandson Christopher Montgomery.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. God rest her soul!
Recitation of the holy rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 4880 Bristol Ave. followed at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, by mass of Christian burial with Rev. Father Rick Fischer, celebrant. A reception will follow immediately in the parish hall.
