Betty was born on Aug. 5, 1947, in Vancouver, Wash.
In 1950, her family moved to Klamath Falls, where she grew up and graduated high school. Soon after graduation, she met Robert Streed of Dorris. The two were married April 12, 1969, and settled on the ranch in Dorris. Betty had several jobs throughout her working years. She was a cook at Lee's Drive-In, a flagger for Trees Inc., and a flagger for PP&L. However, the career she was most proud of was being a homemaker and raising her children and grandchildren. She was a very active participant in her children's 4-H activities. Betty also loved traveling, rafting, and yard-saleing and was a member of the Dorris Women's Club.
She is survived by her husband Robert Streed of Dorris; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Ron Harris of Underwood, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Erin Streed of Klamath Falls; mother Fern Mitchel of Klamath Falls; five grandchildren; sister Pat Thompson; and brother Danny Mitchel.
She was preceded in death by her step-father Willard Mitchel.
