HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -Renee Grigg Bentley passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the age of 66, at her residence in Hot Springs, Ark.
Renee was born on May 13, 1946 to Jodie Lee Grigg and Lois Jean Grigg in Sherman. She married Robert Ellis Bentley on June 26, 1964 in Sherman.
Renee loved to sit outside and watch the wildlife at her home while drinking coffee. She was an avid football fan, and especially enjoyed watching the OU Sooners. Her home was always open to family and friends regardless of the occasion.
During her lifetime she played many different roles from daughter, sister, wife and friend but the most important role was that of a mother.
She is survived by her three children, Liz Hill-Haney, Jodie Ellis Bentley and wife Tumen, Michael Chad Bentley and wife Tamra; eight grandchildren, Jared Hill, Kelsey Haney, Ella Haney, Heather Haywood, Gordon Bentley, Nathaniel Bentley, Joshua Bentley and Sydni Bentley; two great-grandchildren, Julien Hill and Jamie Hill. She has three sisters and one brother, Sandy Gooden and husband Pat, Diane Livingston and husband John, Tammie Wible and husband Ken and John Grigg and wife Sherrie. There are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents.
The greatest gift that Renee left to her children was that she taught them how to love with all their hearts, to have compassion for living things and to live life to the fullest at every given moment.
The family will receive visitors at Dannel Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to a gathering to celebrate her life at the family home in Sherman after visitation.
