She is survived by husband Jim Bassett, daughter, Dejenna Romine of Cartwright, Oklahoma; sons, Ronnie Bassett of Longview; Gary Bassett of Longview and Steve Bassett of Denison; brother, Byrun Brock; sister, Barbara Sellers of Durant, Oklahoma.

Blundell, Waymon - Van Alstyne  
VAN ALSTYNE - Waymon Blundell, age 95 of Van Alstyne, TX passed away on April 28, 2016 in Sherman, TX. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX with Jason Norton officiating. Waymon was born in Winnsboro, TX to Patrick Henry and Vonnie Madge Blundell on January 17, 1921. He married Omega M. Cline in Ft. Bragg, NC in 1943 three days before he left for the war. Waymon is preceded in death by his wife Omega, his brother Patrick Henry Blundell Jr, sister Geraldine Blundell Palmer and his granddaughter Kristi D. Holman. He is survived by his son Del Blundell and wife Sandy; Daughters Cynthia Curl and Karen Holman. Grandchildren Tom B. Holman IV, Lindi D. Holman, Paul Morrison, Sarah McMillan, Jenny Del Toro, Andrew Blundell and Katie Blundell. Great-grandchildren Tom B. Holman V, Wylder Dean Holman, Tanner Blair, Scott McMillan, Taylor McMillan and Maya Ihsleib. Staff Sergeant Waymon Blundell, Parachute Infantry, 101st Airborne, while serving with the Army of the United States of America, distinguished himself by meritorious service in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States during the period 6 June 1944 to 8 May 1945. He displayed his ability and courage in the Normandy Campaign on 6 June 1944, the Airborne assault on Holland on 17 September 1944 and during the defense of the key city of Bastogne, Belgium from 19 December 1944 to 27 December 1944. Throughout the three campaigns Sergeant Blundell demonstrated his devotion to duty and outstanding service to his regiment. While serving his country from 12 May 1942 to 22 September 1945 Blundell received the following decorations and citations: EAME Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars and 1 Bronze Arrowhead – Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster GO #16 Hq 101 AB Division 1 19 Feb 45, Distinguished Unit Badge with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster Hq F USA 17 Jun 44. VAN ALSTYNE - Douglas Charles Ballard (Tex), age 80 of Van Alstyne, TX, passed away on June 17, 2016 in Denison, TX. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas with Debbie Smith officiating. Doug was born in Lawton, Okla. to William Charles Ballard and Laura (Kalker) Ballard on August 28, 1935. He married Jan Harris on June 3, 1960 in Raton, N.M. He served four years in the Navy. He had worked as an engineer for Luminator, E-systems and Raytheon. Doug is preceded in death by his son David Charles Ballard and two sisters Jaunita Mackey and Jean Byrd. Doug is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Jan Ballard; daughters Jena Wilson and her husband Mark, Deneena Lanius and her husband Steve and daughter-in-law Laurie Ballard; three grandchildren, Debbie Lynn Duguid and her husband Jonathan, Stephanie Macias, and Marshall Macias and his wife Shelly; six great-grandchildren CJ, Emily, Dylan, Ainesley, Tyson, and Wesley. Doug also had numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may also be given to Sacred Paws Dog Rescue, PO Box 332 Van Alstyne, TX 281.217.9889. LEONARD - Ronnie Darrell Beck, 59, of Leonard, died Wednesday in Marietta, Oklahoma. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First baptist church in Trenton. The Rev. Joshua Crutchfield will officiate. A family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Leonard. He is survived by wife, Brenda Beck of Leonard; sons, Ronnie Beck of Florida, Ronnie Beck Jr. of Sherman, Anson Jones of Princeton, Brian Barnes of Ivanhoe, Jeff Barnes of Trenton, Don Sadler of Trenton, and Jon Sadler of Leonard; sisters, Shirley Lorance of Van Alstyne, Vickey Gunter of Van Alstyne, Karen Rainey of Van Alstyne, Cynthia Rostyne of Denison, Kay Nelson of Cartwright, Oklahoma, Cathy Green of Marietta; brothers, Jerry Beck of Van Altstyne, Jacky Beck of Van Alstyne, Larry Beck of Denison, Gary Beck of Whitewright, and Steve Beck of Silo-Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jody Allen Burk passed away June 4, 2016 in Whitewright, Texas where he resided. He was born on October 6, 1961 in Redwood Falls, MN to Robert Burk and Neta Maria Swalve (formally Burk).
