Jacobs, James E. "Jim" - Sherman  
SHERMAN - James E. "Jim" Jacobs was born March 29, 1931 in Celeste, Texas to Roland and Mary (Knox) Jacobs and went into the presence of the Lord on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family. Jim grew up in the Celeste area and entered into the United States Navy after high school at the youthful age of 17. His time spanned over 20 years from 1948 till his retirement in September of 1969. During his time in the Navy, he married the love of his life, Carmen Baca, on November 20, 1954 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They were married over 46 years until her passing on April 5, 2000. After Jim's military retirement, the family moved back to Texas and lived in Leonard and Luella. He started a second career which began at the Sherman Post Office until his retirement in April of 1988. He was very much loved by everyone on his postal routes and made many great friends. He and Carmen were very involved at St. Mary's Catholic Church and were associated with CCD and taught Marriage Encounter. Jim enjoyed his job at maintaining the church property, being the "gopher" and an usher till 2000. He loved being outdoors, camping, going to the ocean, and dancing. Jim also sang with a barber shop quartet in the '70s, and with the church choir. His love for his family was immeasurable and the time he spent with each of them. Jim was also preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Jacobs in 1958; and two brothers, Bob and Charles Jacobs. He is survived by his son, Peter Jacobs and his wife, Kate of Sherman, TX, daughters, Cynthia Travis and her husband, Troy of Gainesville, TX, and Pam Jacobs of Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Michael Mourot and his wife, Nikki of Abilene,TX, Monica Ayotte and her husband, Dan of Green Bay, WI, Jade Runnels of Denison, TX, Caylin Runnels of Denton,TX, Marshall McManigell of Denison, TX, Mishay McManigell of Sherman, TX, Chase Travis of Carrollton, TX, Clayton Travis of Austin, TX, and Coogan Foster of Sherman, TX; great-grandchildren, Haley, Ty, Brylee, Parker, Asher, Kai, Bryson, Maddox, Keeng, and Kayne; brother, Roland Jacobs Jr. and his wife, Paula; sisters, Sara Renfro and Bettie Davidson; sister-in-law, Jean Jacobs; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery with Father Antonio Aureus officiating. A Rosary will be recited beginning at 6:00 PM on Thursday, Dec. 18, at Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Deacon Albert Miller in charge. A Visitation will follow the rosary services until 8:00 PM in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County at 505 W. Survivors include his son, Peter Jacobs of Sherman; daughters, Cynthia Travis of Gainesville, Texas, and Pam Jacobs of Sherman; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, at Waldo Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will follow rosary services until 8 p.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County at 505 W. Center St. Sherman, TX 75090. Services are under the direction to Waldo Funeral Home.

Larry is survived by his family, wife, Rose Jackson of Sherman; stepsons, Patrick Meeks and Ronnie Meeks, stepdaughters, Suzette Medrano, Donna Fitzwater and Geneva Mason, his biological children, Jackie Jackson, Kerry Jackson, Mark Jackson and Candace Underwood, 16 grandchildren and17 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Visitation followed the service. SHERMAN - Larry Ralph Jackson, age 82, entered into eternal life Monday, December 8, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center. Mr. Jackson was born November 10, 1932 in Twin City, Missouri the son of Kenneth Fay and Eva Jane (Kent) Jackson. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Air Force for ten years. Larry married the love of his life, Rose Marie Mitchell, March 16, 1982 in Clark County, Nevada. In his early years, he was a true cowboy going to rodeos and bull riding. Later in life, he relaxed by going fishing, listening to bluegrass music and dancing. Larry loved the Lord and his family. He will always be remembered for his kind, loving nature, wonderful sense of humor and deep sense of compassion. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. But he leaves a legacy of integrity, love of family and of God. Larry is survived by his beloved family, wife, Rose Jackson of Sherman; stepsons, Patrick Meeks and wife, Lisa, and Ronnie Meeks, stepdaughters, Suzette Medrano and husband, Armando, Donna Fitzwater and husband, Bill and Geneva Mason and husband, Rick, his biological children, Jackie Jackson, Kerry Jackson and wife, Sherry, Mark Jackson and Candace Underwood, sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, stepson, Michael Meeks and grandson, Matt Mason.
