Ramsey, William Dean - Sherman  
William Dean Ramsey, 63 of Sherman, Texas passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Texoma Health Care Center in Sherman. He was born on January 19, 1952 in Dallas, Texas to Willis Marlow Ramsey and Alice Dean Woods Ramsey. Dean was raised in Dallas where he attended school. He later lived in Denison, Texas, Oklahoma City and Hugo, Oklahoma. He loved to play the guitar, trying to sing Hank Williams and Willie Nelson songs, being with family and friends. Dean loved fishing and the two holidays where he would want the tail of the turkey. Some of his family and friends called him Gunga, once you met him you were not a stranger no more. He is survived by: mother, Alice Dean Ramsey, Sherman, Texas; sister: Alice Marie Spivey and husband Allen, Sherman; nephews: Dustin Spivey and family, Michael Spivey and family. Dean was preceded in death by his father: Willis Marlow Ramsey; brother: Ray Ramsey and nephew: Daryl Ross Spivey. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Texoma Health Care Chapel, Sherman, Texas. Charles Ritcher will officiate the service. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.

Rolen, Donald Lee - Sherman  
SHERMAN - Funeral services for Donald Lee Rolen will be held at 10 a.m. Friday April 24 at Waldo Funeral Home. Bill Mayes of the Krum Church of Christ will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rodney Orr, Brian Orr, Brent Orr, Kenneth Rolen, Todd Rolen, Charlie Skaggs, Curtis Hightower, and William Beene. Gaylon Hightower and James Melton will be honorary pallbearers. Mr. Rolen, 80, passed away Tuesday April 21 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Sherman Healthcare and Heart to Heart Hospice for the excellent care they provided through this difficult time. Don was born December 25, 1934 in Sherman to the late Roy Lee and Ruby Mae (Springfield) Rolen. During high school, Don worked as a paper carrier and enjoyed playing football and running track. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1953 and married Wanda Hightower on July 3, 1953 in Denison. Donald joined US Army, serving in the 49th Armored Division of the National Guard. He worked as an inventory controller for several businesses in the Sherman area. He retired from King Bearing in 1995. Mr. Rolen coached little league baseball for many years at Old Settlers Park. He also officiated football games and was a member of the area football officials association. Donald was a longtime member of the Woods Street Church of Christ, as well as a member of the Travis Street Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. Mr. Rolen will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda of Sherman; daughter, Donneita Orr and husband Rodney of Evansville, IN; son, Eddie Lee Rolen of Tom Bean; daughter-in-law, Dawn Rolen of Sherman; five grandchildren, Tiffany Skaggs and husband Charlie of Howe; Brian Orr and wife Kristin of Sanger, Brent Orr of Bloomington, IN, Alxa Kane Rolen of Sherman, and Sydnee Kane Rolen of Sherman; two great grandsons, Garrett Skaggs of Howe and Ethan Orr of Sanger; great granddaughter (arriving in July), Samantha Skaggs; brother, Kenneth Rolen and wife Mickle of Greenville; sister, Helen Jeffcoats and husband Kenneth of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday April 23 at Waldo Funeral Home. The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com.
