Ratcliff, Earl Andrew - Whitewright  
WHITEWRIGHT - Earl Andrew Ratcliff, 77, of Whitewright, died Sunday at his home in Whitewright. A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at his son Rodney's home, 10948 FM 898, Whitewright, TX 75491. He is survived by two daughters, Dianne Dean of Tom Bean and LaDonna Waller of Whitewright, one son, Rodney Ratcliff of Whitewright, one sister, Ruth Spuriell of Louisiana, one brother, H.L. Ratcliff of Whitewright, and nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Alstyne.

Rogers, Estella Blanton - Oklahoma City  
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Estella Blanton Rogers, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Saturday in Oklahoma City. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tabatha Baptist Church, 1219 East Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City. She is survived by daughter, Pamela Rogers of Oklahoma City, son Jimmy Rogers of Los Angeles, and sister, Bobbie Mitchell of Hendrix, Okla.

Rogers, Micky Franklin - Collinsville  
COLLINSVILLE - A memorial service for Micky Franklin Rogers, 75, of Collinsville will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 29, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman. He passed away September 25 at his home surrounded by his family. Danny Shaver of Circle J Cowboy Church in Collinsville will officiate. A private burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin, Texas. Micky was born on July 14, 1941 in El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of Horace Franklin Rogers and Mary Belle Clemens Rogers. He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School and East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University - Commerce) with both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Education. Micky worked for LTV in Greenville for a short period of time and then taught school in Dallas at Bryan Adams High School. He worked for Texas Instruments in Sherman before returning to school teaching at White Oak High School in White Oak, Texas. He later went into the home building business in the Longview area after which he returned to Texas Instruments in 1987 and retired in 2004. Micky married Mary Nan Burks on June 2, 1962 in Marlin, Texas. They had been married 54 years at the time of his death, the same number of years her parents had been married at the time of her father's death. Micky was a member of the Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Spring Hill, had been a member of both the Travis Masonic Lodge in Sherman and the Bethesda Masonic Lodge in Gilmer, Texas. He was also a 32nd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite and a member of the Sharon Shriners. Micky's great passion in life was the horse business, especially cutting horses. For a number of years he raised, trained and showed cutting horses. He was a member of many horse related organizations including the National Cutting Horse Association, the American Cutting Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. He had also been an approved cutting horse judge. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jo Carole McFarland, his niece Mary Carole Heckaman, and brothers-in-law Gerry Burks and Bill Burks. He is survived by his wife, Mary Nan Rogers of Collinsville, his son and his wife, Todd and Cindy Rogers and grandsons, Zachary Rogers and Joshua Rogers of Tioga, his sister, Mary Green of Pilot Point, his sisters-in-law Sharon Burks of Midland and Joyce Burks of Marlin, his nephews Rusty Green and his wife Katie of Aubrey, Ty Burks of Dallas, Robert Crawford and his wife Donita of Mena, Arkansas, Todd Crawford and his wife Sonya of Gonzales, his niece Candace Grams and her husband Jody of Marlin and many great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins. Ryon, Hazel Graves - Sherman  
SHERMAN - Graveside funeral services Hazel Graves Ryon will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 29 at West Hill Cemetery. Rev. Steve Rice of the First Baptist Church of Sherman will officiate. Mrs. Ryon, 94, passed away Monday, September 26 in Sherman after a brief illness. Hazel was born June 20, 1922 in Denton, Texas to the late Walter and Mabel Graves. Hazel was a graduate of Sherman High School and married Jack Ryon in 1945 after he returned from WWII. She worked as a secretary in a law office before marriage and later as a secretary at Austin College. Her typing skills were outstanding at 92 words a minute on a manual typewriter. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and was active in PTA and other family activities. She was active at First Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. Hazel was also a caregiver for her parents and an invalid sister. In her free time, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and spent many hours at the kitchen table making sure all her answers were correct. She and Jack had been married 29 years when he passed away in 1974. Mrs. Ryon is survived by one son, Alan Ryon of Sherman; one daughter, Beverly Ryon Sedar and husband Bob of Aurora, Colorado; two grandchildren, Robert Sedar and wife Nichole of Lakewood, Colorado and Dena Sedar of Kona, Hawaii; and one niece, Patricia Stewart of Dorchester. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Edith Kathleen Sims and Edna Pearl Graves. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 28 at Waldo Funeral Home. The register book can be signed online at http://www.waldofuneralhome.com.
