Sanders, Edith A. (Simpson) - Denison  
DENISON - Edith A. Sanders, 94, died at her residence in Denison on Thursday, January 15, 2015. Rosary services will be recited at 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 18 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with a Visitation to follow from 6:30-7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home with Deacon Gary Vogel presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Denison. Serving as her pallbearers will be, Keith Ward, Trey Frazier, Dan Holloway, Thomas Hooker and Sean Summers. Edith was born in Homer, Louisiana on March 31, 1920 to her parents Wyatt Moses and Myra Price Simpson. She and Earl Aaron Sanders were married on August 5, 1936 in Tullos, Louisiana. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1975. She retired from Pillsbury where she worked in the pre-mix section. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a member of the ladies alter society. She is survived by her daughters, Earlene Barnes of Illinois and Elaine Neff of Denison; grandchildren, Dee Dee Holloway, Natalie Neff, Erin Sanders, Becky Austin, Linda Bickers and Mike McNealy; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; son, Eugene Sanders; daughter, Elizabeth Sanders; one brother and one sister. Scruggs, Faye Ruth - Sherman  
SHERMAN - Faye Ruth Scruggs, age 81, of Sherman, TX, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Sherman Health Care Center. She was born on July 10, 1933 in Sherman, TX to Samuel and Ray Irene Mask. She was a house wife and loved taking care of her children. She especially enjoyed reading. She was a member of Independent Springs Methodist Church in Sherman. She is survived by her children; Lucian Scruggs of Sherman, TX and David Scruggs and his wife Cheryl of Sherman, TX. sisters; Beneta Smith of Sherman, TX and Opal Tompkins of Dallas, TX. brother; Donald Ray Mask of Duncanville, TX, other cousins and many friends. Preceding her in death is her parents, brothers; Gene Mask, Calvin "Dick" Mask, and William "Sonny" Mask. Sister: Beatrice Perry. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 24, 2015, 1 p.m. at New Birth Cathederal of Praise, 2310 N. Travis, Sherman, TX. Reverend Sherrick Thompson Reverend Charles Brown Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Whiterock Cemetery in Whitewright, TX. A wake will be held on Friday, Janaury 23, 2015, 6 – 8 p.m at American Funeral Service, Denison, TX. Pallbearers will be Roemello Hagood, Ladarren Hagood Sewell, Braydon Roberts, TR'Layne Hagood, Nicho Patterson and Tyler Jones. Smith, Mary - Comanche  
Mary Ruth Smith, age 92, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015, in Stephenville, Texas. She is survived by her son, Harold W. Smith of Comanche; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Marie Hughes of Albuquerque, N.M.; and brother, James C. Dyer of Arlington. Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman with Bro. Danny Wood officiating. Comanche Funeral Home of Comanche, Texas is in charge of arrangements.

Sowell, John - Sherman  
SHERMAN - John Charles Sowell was born June 5, 1988 in Dallas, Texas to Charles Colin Sowell and Pamela Gayle Forsman Sowell. He died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas at the age of 26. He was a resident of Sherman, Texas. John was a graduate of Whitewright High School, an Eagle Scout and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitewright. He was an employee of Eaton in Sherman. He is survived by mother, Pam Simpson and husband Bob of Whitewright; brother, Curtis Sowell and wife LeAnn of Arlington; sister, Christine Davis and husband Marcellus and nephew, Collin Davis of Houston; fiance, Natalie Simpson and her son, Karson of Whitewright. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles "Chuck" Sowell and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24 at First United Methodist Church, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Frank Rahm. Burial will follow at Pilot Grove Cemetery in Pilot Grove, Texas. Pallbearers will be Joel Luper, Keith Jackson, Justin Carter, Josh "Walton" Clarke, Steven Ray, and John Stephens. Honorary Pallbearer will be Taylor McKinney. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
