Angie Philagios

DENISON - Annie Sue "Angie" Keller Davis Philagios, 66, of Denison quietly and peacefully passed away with her husband Jerry and her sons, Victor Ray Davis and wife, Donna and Calvin Brett Davis by her side Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.

Angie was born May 26, 1947 in Durant, Okla. the daughter of Howard and Cleota Smith. Her family moved to Denison when she was 8 months old. She attended St. Xavier's Catholic School for first grade, then grades two thru seven at Golden Rule School. After that she attended Catholic schools in various cities in New Mexico and Arizona. She graduated from Denison High School in 1966. She then married David Ray Davis Feb. 19, 1967 they had two children together Victor Ray and Calvin Brett Davis.

Angie later married the love of her life Jerry Philagios Dec. 30, 1978. They deeply loved each other and their time together was the best of times, which included camping, fishing, and becoming professional truck drivers, they drove as a team for 14 years. During that time together collecting pictures of church steeples, water falls and bridges from all over the beautiful sites of the U.S. that God created. She had to retire because of her health but the love of trucking stayed with her.

She graduated from Sherman Beauty School in 1974. She worked at Woman's World and also the University of Florida with continuing education. In 1985, she became a Food Service Director and for more than four years she worked at Brentwood (Cantex) and Care Inn of Denison. Then at Sherman Nursing Center for three years. Angie will be remembered for the love of her patients that she cared for and helped in many ways. She also adored her special four legged baby Bandit, she truly loved all animals.

Angie is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Mark Philagios of Denison; sons, Victor Ray Davis and wife Donna of Denison and Calvin Brett Davis of Denison; her beloved grandsons, Jayson Davis and Dustin Davis; great-grandsons, Jaylon Davis and Jaydon Davis; great-granddaughter, Natalie; and adopted granddaughter, Danielle Rolen.

Celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at will Mirick Church of Christ with Minister officiating.

The family wishes to express a special heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Myers, Dr. Willie and the nurses and techs at Davita which was her second home.
