Anthony Lopresti

SHERMAN - Memorial services for Anthony "Dutchie" Lopresti Jr., 83, of Sherman will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. He passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2013 at his home in Sherman.

Tony was born on July 29, 1930 in Melrose, Mass., the son of Anthony Lopresti Sr. and Doris E. Williams Lopresti. He enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Catherine M. Rizza on June 23, 1957 in West Newton, Mass. Tony traveled all over the world while working with Raymond International Construction Company. He worked for T.L James for 10 years before his retirement. Tony loved playing old county music on his guitar and accordion. He always took his guitar wherever he traveled. Tony also loved watching and coaching sports.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine M. Lopresti of Sherman; daughter, Teresa Garry and husband Jim of McKinney; son, Anthony D. Lopresti of Awendaw, S.C.; and daughter, Kathleen A. Hagan and husband Dennis of Sherman. Tony is also survived by his children from previous marriage, son, Lee Hamilton and wife Susan of Yacolt, Wash.; daughter, Debra Hamilton of Wilmington, N.C.; son, Michael Hamilton of Charlotte, N.C.; 80 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister, Donavee Terry of Plymouth, Mass.; brother, Phillip Lopresti; and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alfred Lopresti and two sisters, Betty Studley and Millie
