E. Virginia Rhea

HOWE - E. Virginia Rhea, 91, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.

Virginia was born May 22, 1922 in Columbus, Ohio to Fred and Edith (Watson) Schuh. She married Don B. Davis on June 2, 2009 in Sherman.

Virginia served as a volunteer during World War II packing parachutes for the war effort. She also obtained her MA degree from Rice University in Houston. She had a love of music and shared it by teaching voice and piano lessons in Grayson County. She also worked as a Realtor and developer for most of her life. In her free time, she enjoyed swimming and caring for her animals.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Don Davis of Howe; daughter, Darcy Shackelford of Zionsville, Indiana; son, Lance Nelson of Pflugerville; daughter, Sally Thomason and husband Tony of Denison; grandchildren, John Shackelford, Cara Shackelford and husband Jeff Porter, Barret Shackelford, Cynthia Zinn and husband Frank; and great-grandchildren, Frankie and Macy Zinn.
