Estella Gilliam

Estella Imogene Gilliam, 82, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Denison Manor in Denison. She was born to Clyde and Nancy Roberson Henderson on Nov. 25, 1930 in Pottsboro. Mrs. Gilliam belonged to the Beta Signa Phi sorority. She loved to crochet lovely pieces for family and friends. She worked for Levi Strauss as a seamstress. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Denison.

She is survived by her daughters, Gina Alexander and Don of Denison, Sheri Tussing and Duff of McKinney, Debra Doty and J C of Denison; brother, Jerry Don Henderson and Gwen of Denison; two sisters, Lucille Boren of Plano, Ruth Wasden and Tom of Denison; seven grandchildren, Deen Slagle, Trey Doty, Brittany Ivy, Ryan Alexander, Kellie Gibson, Rogers Hornsby, Kelt Gibson; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren. She was know to her grandchildren as "MeMama." She also leaves behind a host of friends and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jamie Gilliam in 2008; son, Wayne Edward Brigman; grandson, Cole Alexander; granddaughter, Gia Slagle; parents, Clyde and Nancy Henderson; brothers, Jim, Johnny, Bobby Jack, Larry Joe and Paul Michael Henderson; sisters, Marie Caraway, Delois Chastain and Joyce Irwin.

Family visitation will be from 6 -7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at American Funeral Service, Denison. Graveside service will be Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, 10 a.m., at Cedarlawn Cemetery, Sherman, Texas. Officiating will be her nephew, TJ Wasden. The family wishes to "Thank" those who cared for her during her illness.
