Geraldine Jeri Ellis

SHERMAN - Mrs. Geraldine "Jerri" Ellis, 84, of Sherman passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Sherman, Texas.

Mrs. Ellis was born May 19, 1929 in Ackerly, Texas to James Patterson and Molly Homer Patterson.

Mrs. Ellis went to be with the Lord after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She loved singing and playing the piano and guitar, reading the Bible and studying God's Word. She was member of the Morton Street Church of Christ.

She was a loving wife, mother and Nanny and a Christian Mentor to all.

"Jerri" is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charley Ellis of Sherman; sons, Randy Brownlow and wife Nancy, Graham, Jerry Dale Brownlow and wife Jan, Lubbock. Her granddaughters are Amy Applegate and husband Brian of Pittsburg, and Misti Taylor and husband Chad of Graford; and five great-grandchildren.

Her stepchildren are Theressa "Risa" Ellis Seeton and husband Jon of Waco; daughter-in-law Mary Ellis of Sherman, David Ellis and wife Kathy of Howe, Debbie Ellis of Luella, Barbara Ellis Butler and husband Roger of Paris, Texas, Becky Ellis Blomstedt and husband Garret of Tom Bean; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews..

"Jerri" was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Thurman, Arnold, Vernon, Murray and Walter; one sister, Lona Morris, two grandsons, James Lee Brownlow and Jerry Don Brownlow and one stepson Charley Ellis Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Morton Street Church of Christ in Denison, with Welton Stoker and Jerry Spradling officiating. There will be congregational singing at the service.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Ector, Texas.

Pallbearers serving are Scott Ellis, Justin Ellis, Cody Blomstedt, Colton Blomstedt, Zac Alexander, Garret Blomstedt.

Honorary Bearers are Chuck Harville, Keith Patterson, Randell Patterson and C.W. Patterson.

The family will have a visitation time from 6 -8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8 at the American Funeral Services located at 4312 W. Crawford St. Denison.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff and caregivers at the Willow's of Sherman and Hospice Plus. In lieu of flowers, they request donations may be made in her name to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave, 7th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10001.
