Grady Ritchson(1929-2012)

Grady Eugene Ritchson, 83, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at the Paris Regional Medical Center North Campus. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at the Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Honey Grove, Texas with Rev. Jack Ball officiating and assisted by Rev. Irwin Irons. Serving as active pallbearers will be: Loyd Ritchson, Leon Ritchson, Grant Partridge, Tommy Alexander, Michael Martin and Lewis Ritchson. Named as honorary pallbearers are: Grady Neal, Cody Ritchson and Wesley Ritchson. Family visitation is scheduled for 7 -8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Honey Grove.

Grady Eugene Ritchson was born Nov. 6, 1929 to Jim Reason and Annie Elizabeth (Goley) Ritchson in the Minter community in Lamar County Texas. He was raised in the Minter, Cunningham Texas area and attended schools in that area. He married Cleta Faye Springer of Honey Grove on April 30, 1951. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army for two years and later served in the Texas Army National Guard located in Honey Grove. He had been retired for several years and was a welder for the trailer manufacturing business.

Mr. Ritchson is survived by his wife of 61 years of the home; a sister, Eva Bently of Colbert, Okla.; and a brother, Talmer Ritchson of Whitesboro; four daughters, Vera Elizabeth Donegan of Sherman, Gracie Faye and husband Harmon Davis of Sulphur Springs, Cathy Sides and husband Dale Sides of Hooks, Amy Lou McIntyre of Paron, Ark. He is also survived by three sons, Loyd Eugene Ritchson and Brad Campbell of Dallas, Grandy Leon Ritchson of Tom Bean and Lewis Ritchson of Moyers, Okla. He is further survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
