Harold Haskell Johnston(1925-2012)

Mr. Harold Haskell Johnston passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 At Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

He was born to Marion Johnston and Ida Pearl Gann on Dec. 17, 1925 in Albany, Okla.

He married Glenis Walton on July 5, 1952 in Potalas, N.M., who survives him.

Mr. Johnston is a lifetime resident of this area and a member of the Baptist Church. His hobbies were gardening and fishing and his occupation was heavy equipment operator.

Mr. Johnston was a U S Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Glenis; and eight children, Janie Lambright and husband Ray of Humble,, Harold Wayne Johnston and wife Shirley of Denison, Ricky Johnston and wife Deborah of Colbert, Okla., Ilene Gartman of Colbert, Okla., Arlene Simmons and husband Gean of Colbert, Okla., Darla Bookout of Colbert, Okla., David Johnston and wife Donna of Colbert, Okla., Steven Johnston and wife Lisa of Colbert, Okla.

He has one brother, Ray Johnston and wife Linda of Seagraves.

The 28 grandchildren are: Kelly, Patricia, Jason, Allen, Gordan, Ladonna, Ronnie, Tim, Christie, Nathan, Jody, Kendiss, Ashlee, Brittani, Billy, Beth, Dallas, Wesley, Jennifer, Donald, Neil, Nickie, Mandy, Eric, Ashley, Eulonda, Devin, Shelby.

There are 50 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Ida Pearl Johnston; two brothers, Johnny and Marshall Johnston; one daughter, Pat Smith; one grandson, Donald Simons Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Thomas Seth Gartman and Claycee Bookout.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Colbert, with Rev. Roddy Arnold officiating.

Interment will follow at the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert.

A visitation time will be held from 6 -8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13 at the First Baptist Church in Colbert.

Pallbearers serving are: Tim Johnston, Nathan Johnston, Billy Gartman, Wesley Johnston, Neil Johnston, Nick Johnston, Eric Bookout, Devin Johnston.

American Funeral Services of Colbert has charge of all the arrangements.
